Madisha returns property

Kingdom Mabuza

Former Cosatu president Willy Madisha has returned the property the union federation demanded after he was fired last week.

Madisha said yesterday he had already returned a laptop and a cellphone, not a house as Sowetan incorrectly reported on Tuesday.

He said reports that he would be evicted had distressed his family.

"I have already returned the property of Cosatu, which is a cellphone and a laptop. I was not allocated a house. The house I stay in does not belong to Cosatu," he said.

Cosatu spokesman Patrick Craven told Sowetan on Monday that Madisha would be expected to return the federation's property.

Yesterday Craven said that he had not meant a house when he referred to property.
