Platinum Stars have vowed to add to Kaizer Chiefs' miseries when they meet in a Absa Premiership match at Loftus in Pretoria this evening at 7.30pm.
Thamaga Mokgopi, Stars' general manager, said the situation at Chiefs, where the future of coach Muhsin Ertugral is uncertain, had nothing to do with them.
"I pity Chiefs because they are playing against us at the wrong time. We have all our weapons ready for war," he said.
"We are not a charity organisation. Chiefs must not expect favours because we are going all out for a win to go well inside the top-eight bracket.
"Except for the draw in the first round, Chiefs have always been our daily bread," said an upbeat Mokgopi yesterday.
Following their 1-1 draw against log leaders Ajax Cape Town in the Mother City on Saturday, Ertugral was happy with their performance.
Ertugral said the display against the Urban Warriors was a step in the right direction in their quest to finish the season in the top five bracket.
"Looking at how dominant we were in the match, we can carry a lot of things from this game with us into the one against Platinum Stars."
Chiefs are keeping their fingers crossed for Simphiwe Tshabalala and Derrick Spencer to pass a late fitness test, while Onismor Bhasera is suspended.
Stars coach Miquel Gamondi welcomes back key players such as Phumudzo Manenzhe, Lefa Mogaila and Michael Khaile, who were rested in Maseru to recharge their batteries.
The majority of senior players were rested when Stars lost 0-1 to Lesotho Correctional Services in the MTN Africa Champions League last weekend.
The Amakhosi faithful will look up to Kaizer Motaung Junior, Shaun Bartlett and David Mathebula to bring back a smile on their faces for a change.
