The Ghana Football Association has fired Isaac Paha as the coach of the Black Queens, the women's national team.

The former Ghana international was sacked along with his assistants Dan Owusu and Dora Zuta because of poor performance.

Abdul Gamel Mumuni and Isaac Fukuo will take over the team after impressing with the Black Princesses, the national Under-19 side.

Black Queens management committee chairman Fred Crenstil says the changes will help to improve the fortunes of the Black Queens.

"We have seen recent unimpressive outings from the Black Queens," Crenstil told BBC Sport.

"This has even been noted by the media. If action is not taken we could have disastrous consequences."

The team conceded 15 goals and scored just three at last year's World Cup in China. - BBC
