The future looks bright for four Limpopo students from poor backgrounds after Boston City Campus in Tzaneen came to their rescue and awarded them bursaries to study courses of their choice.
Each of the students has been given bursaries worth R5000 each and will study various courses like media studies, human resources and business management.
The bursaries were awarded after Beka Ntsanwisi intervened, through her company, Mama Beka Community Projects.
The students, all orphans, were selected from poor families in Mapapila Village near Malamulele, Chabani Village near Elim and NkowaNkowa township near Tzaneen.
According to Ntsanwisi, her organisation approached various government departments, companies and other financial institutions after the students asked her if she could help them further their studies.
"Boston City Campus offered them the four bursaries," said Ntsanwisi.
Three of the four students are Lindy Baloyi, 19 and Nhlanhla Manganyi, 19, who will do media studies, while Lebogang Tshikhuthule, 20, will study human resource management.
No details about the fourth student were available.
The principal of the Boston City Campus in Tzaneen, Janet Theron, said her college was happy to join hands with Ntsanwisi to invest in education.
She said the students would study full time at the college in Tzaneen. The courses are for one year.
