Mpumalanga police are looking for two men who robbed the owner of a butchery, his wife and son of an undisclosed amount of money at gunpoint on Wednesday night, police said.

Joseph Nkambule, 42, his wife and son were busy off-loading stock from a bakkie at kaBokweni, near White River, when two armed thugs suddenly confronted them at about 8pm.

Police spokesman Abie Khoabane said "the thugs pointed firearms at the victims and told them to lie down".

He said Nkambule was shot in the left leg and was rushed to the nearby Themba hospital.
