Action of varsity students proves racism is alive

I was disturbed by television footage of University of Free State students abusing black workers. After 14 years of democracy, we continue to see such racist behaviour.

I was disturbed by television footage of University of Free State students abusing black workers. After 14 years of democracy, we continue to see such racist behaviour.

But I was not surprised by the students' behaviour because it happens all the time. The question is, what is the government going to do about it? Are some white South Africans going to say that the students are mentally ill?

Recently, Johan Nel, and a few years ago Barend Strydom went on shooting sprees killing black people. Such incidents continue, but no one takes any notice.

I am not a racist and I will never be one, but I am disturbed by these incidents. I am not related to the workers, but any black person would be affected. Culturally, the workers are like my parents.

We won't hear noise makers like DA leader Helen Zille and Freedom Front Plus leader Pieter Mulder making a noise about this issue.

People died fighting apartheid, but ordinary young blacks have not seen the end of apartheid. Freedom is only for the elite.

When Robert Mugabe takes what belongs to Zimbabweans back to the rightful owners, the Zilles of this world make a noise. Whites who still believe they are superior to blacks must go back to Europe. Blacks are too forgiving. Heads must roll.
