Couzyn Hertzog and Horak Attorneys are to host the annual convention on lex informatica - the law on electronic communications, electronic commerce and information technology.

Lex informatica is a Latin term for cyberlaw.

Sizwe Snail of Couzyn Hertzog and Horak says this year's theme is "Innovation in cyberlaw".

He says the theme will not specifically limit the scope of presented or applicable papers, but that topical papers are also welcome.

"Companies, individuals or institutions interested in becoming part of this event are free to make proposals to the conference chair," Snail says.

The convention will take place at the Innovation Hub in Pretoria from May 21 to May 23 May.

He advised invited speakers to submit their drafts to him by e-mail or fax by tomorrow.

"This is not an event to be missed.

"Academicians or practitioners should therefore book their seats early to avoid disappointment," Snail says.

The registration fee is R6500 and only members of the Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) will get a special discount.
