Mpumalanga teachers are mourning the loss of one of their dedicated colleagues who passed away after complaining of headaches.
English teacher Mariah Nombuyiselo Radebe, 40, of MC Zitha Combined School died on Saturday after battling incessant headaches.
The school is situated in the remote area of Masibekela near Komatipoort.
"We were shocked to learn that one of our colleagues had passed away," said school headmaster Bobert Dlamini.
"The SGB members and pupils send their condolences to her family,"
Dlamini told Sowetan that Radebe's death was a big loss to the school and pupils.
"Her class attained a 100percent pass rate for two consecutive years and we were still hoping to reap more fruit from her but death decided otherwise," said Dlamini sadly.
Radebe, from KaMhlushwa township, is survived by two children. The memorial service is to be held today at the school.
At the time of Radebe's death, the school was preparing to host awards for the best teachers who had raised the institution's profile.
