Ghanaian soccer giants Hearts of Oak are among the three foreign clubs who will add international flavour at the 20th Easter Metropolitan Premier Cup in Cape Town.
This year's tournament is scheduled to take place at the Erika Park sports grounds in Belhar from March 19 to 24.
A total of 32 clubs have been drawn in eight groups of four each where they will follow a round robin format in the first round.
The top two clubs will qualify for the last 16 stage to follow a knockout system. This has proved to be a regular hunting ground for coaches in need of new blood.
Some of the household names who have featured in this tournament include Aaron Mokoena, Benni McCarthy, Lynch Pule, Thulani Serero, Mathew Booth and David Kannemeyer.
As part of the 20th celebrations of this yearly development tournament, the organisers have also invited teams from England and Germany to take part.
SVC Wehen Wiesbaden 1926 are from Germany, while South Nottingham College are from England, said Christabell Kota, group brand general manager of the sponsors.
Kota said they were proud to be associated with this prestigious tournament, which has a well documented track record in South African soccer.
South African Premiership clubs who have also qualified include Bloemfontein Celtic, Mamelodi Sundowns, Ajax Cape Town, Platinum Stars, SuperSport United, Moroka Swallows, BidVest Wits and Santos.
As usual, Amajita coach Serame Letsoaka will also be flying to the Mother City with the hope of getting two or three impressive players.
"The tournament in Cape Town is one of the best development programmes in South African soccer, no wonder it attracts so many development coaches.
"We (Amajita) will soon be starting with the qualifiers for the 2009 Africa Youth Championships."
