When Ajax Cape Town shot to the top of the log earlier in the season, many people thought they were just temporarily holding the umbrella for the usual suspects.

But they have incredibly taken the unstoppable form well into the second round, which makes them early favourites to clinch the inaugural Absa Premiership title.

They return inland on Sunday for yet another tricky assignment against Jomo Cosmos at Orkney Stadium but are tipped to grab maximum points.

Andrew Rabutla, Cosmos' team manager, said they were gearing themselves up for a tough game against the log leaders.

"Ajax are the team of the moment in the Premiership. They have been doing very well this season and deserve to be on top of the log.

"But we are going to fight. The good thing is that the team is playing well but we have not been lucky upfront, where goals elude us," Rabutla said.

"I was impressed that we scored a goal in our draw against SuperSport United in a midweek game. There is light at the end of the tunnel."

Thabiso "Shooz" Mekuto, Ajax's publicist, said: "For us each game is like a cup final, we are under pressure to keep our winning rhythm.

Cosmos will bank on Dikgang Mabalane, Valery Nahayo and Bamuza Sono while the Urban Warriors will rely on Russell Mwafulirwa, Nathan Paulse and young Thulane Serero.
