Saturday was a day to remember for many soccer lovers in and around Giyani when cellphone giants Vodacom staged their Limpopo Promotional League roadshow.

The event was marked by eight league matches as the teams tried to enhance their chances of being crowned the league's provincial champions at the end of the season.

Nine teams that will finish on top of their respective logs in the nine provinces will qualify for the national playoffs that will decide two clubs for the National First Division berths at the end of the season.

The playoffs will be held in May at dates and venues still to be decided.

Dolphins went berserk when they massacred Winners Arsenal 5-1 in a one-sided affair in the opening match of the day.

Mighty FC pipped Dia Rora 1-0 in the second encounter and Peace Lovers strolled to a 4-1 win over Phalaborwa Peace Lovers in the next match.

Manendzhe and Bilika All Stars, who drew 2-all in an exciting clash, brought the curtain down on an action-packed day.

Lucky supporters won themselves, cellular phones, air-time, T-shirts, caps and soccer balls, among other things.

Those who have been following the game of billions managed to identify former Orlando Pirates linkmen Jackie "Styles" Ledwaba and Ernest "Botsotso" Makhanya at the stadium.

Ledwaba is the coach of Peace Lovers, who have qualified for the last 32 stage of the Nedbank Cup.

They pipped Sinky Mnisi's Classic 2-1 in the preliminary match in Seshego a fortnight ago.

Makhanya was the guest of Mighty FC boss Mighty Tjale who is believed to be on the verge of roping in the former Bucs star in his technical staff.

Supporters remained at the stadium long after the matches to dance to good music that was dished out by local DJs.
