There may be serious allegations levelled against them, but this appeared not to have affected FC AK as they continued winning matches in their quest for promotion to the Absa Premiership this season.

The controversial Eldorado Park club remain on top of the National First Division's Inland Stream after beating African Warriors 1-0 at home on Saturday.

The goal was scored by midfielder Bafana Sibeko.

Bahumi, whose chairman Aziz Kara is being accused of attempting to bribe Mpumalanga Black Aces goalkeeper Michael Babale to throw their match in December, are leading the pack on 29 points from 15 matches.

Kwezi Masondo, FC AK manager, insisted yesterday that the bribery claims against Kara will not sway their attention from winning the much-sought-after promotion to the top flight.

"We have spoken to the players and they are all determined to ensure the success of FC AK this season," Masondo said.

"We know there a people out there who are trying everything possible to destabilise the team but they will not succeed."

Zola Majavu, the Premier Soccer League's prosecutor, said yesterday that he was still awaiting evidence from Aces and the police before he could charge FC AK.

Dynamos, who beat Aces 4-2 in NkowaNkowa on Sunday, are second in the standings on 24 points from the same number of matches.

Fuming Aces coach Kenny Ndlazi said there was no way they could have defused the Dynamites because the referee was biased towards the visitors.
