'bafana size is not an issue'

It is ridiculous to complain about the small size of Bafana Bafana players. It shows how ignorant those critics are.

All the experts, Carlos Alberto Parreira included, agree that skill, speed and tactics are more important than the size of the players. But then, there are some idiots who want Bafana Bafana to be big "animals".

I can't stand Mark Gleeson, Neil Tovey, Gordon Igesund, Gary Bailey and a few others who only believe in the size of players' bones and muscles. When the Afcon started in Ghana, Gleeson predicted that Senegal would be the favourites because they are big and strong. When Senegal was kicked out he shifted to Cameroon and praised them because they "can body-check".

How big is Samuel Eto'o, their key player and usually match winner? Why did Gleeson not pick Egypt as example of "perfect size" winners, with the best players such as Zidan and Aboutrika just half the size of some big boys from Senegal and Cameroon? Where are these "big" players in South Africa, who today can play against the best in the world?
