Africa honours civil rights hero

This year's 10th anniversary celebrations of the African Renaissance in Durban in May will be dedicated to US civil rights leader James Orange, KwaZulu-Natal Premier S'bu Ndebele said.

Orange died on Saturday night at his home in Atlanta, Georgia, of natural causes.

Orange had sSince 1998 chaired the African Renaissance Movement in the US.

He also led the African-American delegation to the African Renaissance conference in Durban.
