Witbank Spurs' new recruit' Frank "Disco" Makua, pictured, said he and his teammates are eager to give it their all in the third round of the National First Division league following a shaky first and second round.

Spurs' first third-round game is at home against fellow strugglers University of Pretoria on Saturday at Ackerville Stadium.

The 34-year-old Makua is expected to lead his side in the encounter that kicks off at 3pm.

The former Kaizer Chiefs, Manning Rangers and Dynamos midfielder, who has signed a six-month contract with Sivutha Umlilo, said everyone in the team is committed and eager to get good results, starting with the AmaTuks game.

"The spirit is high in the team despite us being tailenders. The players and the technical staff have committed to work together to pull the team from the basement.

"Our aim is to finish in the top four bracket," he said.

Spurs and Amatuks are separated by a mere three points.

In their previous meetings, Amatuks won the first round 1-0 and Aces won the second round encounter 2-1.
