The Oude Meester Ekurhuleni Comes Alive Jazz evenings initiative kicks off its new calendar this week.

After closing last year on a high note with a sizzling performance by Stimela and the Kwani Experience, the event is back by popular demand.

Kicking off the season at the Birchwood Executive Hotel in Boksburg on Friday is the evergreen Ringo Madlingozi, who will be the house band for the monthly event.

He released his last album, Ndim Lo, in 2006. Madlingozi has a lot of entertaining in store for music lovers in this lovers' month.

He will perform his favourite love songs such as Buyisa, Nanini Na, Hey Ntombi, Hamba Bhekile, Uhambile and Into Yam.

The Cape Town-born Madlingozi will be sharing the stage with promising artist Mathapelo.

She might not be famous yet, but watch her closely. She is certainly talented.

Friday promises to be a night to remember as Ekurhuleni comes alive.

A full house is anticipated for the night of jazz. The performers promise the audience a show that they will not forget in a hurry.

Tickets and tables must be booked in advance to avoid disappointment because none will be sold at the event.
