Bullet Alexander, one of the most influential figures in the history of the Comrades Marathon, will be buried in Pietermaritzburg on Friday afternoon.

Alexander, who was an Honorary Life Member of the Comrades Marathon Association (CMA), died on Saturday after a long illness.

He was 73.

Dave Dixon, CMA chairman, has extended his condolences to Bullet's family and friends on behalf of the association.

"Bullet was one of the giants of the race and made a huge contribution to its growth and development. He will be sorely missed. His legacy will live with us forever," Dixon said. - Mcelwa Nchabeleng
