Police yesterday discovered two decomposed bodies along the Klipvalley Road in Orlando, Soweto.

The first man, who apparently committed suicide because "he was lonely", was found by passersby.

Thandanani Manganyi discovered the body when he went to the area yesterday morning, accompanied by four friends. Manganyi had on Wednesday lost his tyre which had come off his car while driving home from work. "At first we thought that the man was sleeping, but on closer inspection we realised that he was dead," said Manganyi.

Moroka police spokesman Captain Mpande Khoza said: "The decomposed body of a man aged between 30 and 35 was found in the veld next to Nancefield Hostel. He had left a suicide note saying he was lonely."

The second man, aged between 40 and 45, was discovered in the same veld - next to the Klip River. He had multiple stab wounds and a bullet wound on his neck. His mouth was gagged with tape.

"It does not look like he was killed there, the river was only used as a dumping site."

A murder docket has been opened.

l In another incident, police are searching for a Phiri, Soweto man who allegedly shot and killed his daughter's boyfriend on Saturday night.

The man and the boyfriend had a dispute when his daughter came home with the boyfriend.

Khoza said: "The father did not want the boyfriend to enter his yard, but the boyfriend wanted to go in forcefully. There was a scuffle and the father bumped into the boyfriend's BMW. They fought and the father shot the boyfriend."

The boyfriend was rushed to hospital where he died. A murder docket has been opened and police are still searching for the suspect.
