The court case of Soul Brothers lead singer David Masondo was postponed in the Protea magistrate's court in Soweto yesterday.

The court case of Soul Brothers lead singer David Masondo was postponed in the Protea magistrate's court in Soweto yesterday.

The 56-year-old artist was charged with assaulting his wife of 17 years, Nomsa, and pointing a firearm at her.

He was arrested at his home in Mofolo Park, Soweto, on Wednesday. Masondo, dressed in a navy suit, Dolce & Gabbana shirt and trousers, appeared anxious as he stood before Magistrate William Botha. He is to appear in court again next Thursday for a bail application, and will remain in custody. It has been reported that Masondo's wife has sought a protection order against him. - Sapa
