Aces dump errant Nunens

After first being shown the exit by Mamelodi Sundowns for his wayward behaviour, Sipho Nunens has again been dumped by the ambitious National First Division outfit Mpumalanga Black Aces for the same reason.

The talented midfielder joined Amazayoni last October after being in limbo for nearly a season or two following his unproductive stay at Sundowns.

He initially told Sowetan on the day he signed on the dotted line for Aces that he was a changed man. He was also on Lesedi FM telling the same story and about how he was looking forward to being given a chance to prove himself once more.

"I have been out of action for a long time and it is about time that I focus on my God-given talent. I am focused now and ready to play.

"My goal is to help Aces to gain promotion," he said then.

But his resolve seemed to have faded quickly because barely three months later the player was reported to be back to his old ways.

Thabo "T-Bose" Moroape, Aces' spokesman, confirmed the sacking of Nunens.

"Aces have parted ways with Nunens. The problem started in December when he went back to drinking," Moroape said.

"He was drinking excessively and he would come into the clubhouse drunk and damage the team's property, threatening to stab his teammates. We decided to terminate his contract."
