Limpopo Eagles Golf Association's (Lega) spokesman Pat "Fingers" Moyaha says he believes that the new executive members of the body have an invaluable role to play in the administration of the sport in the province.

Moyaha was referring to Anna Mashego and George Masemola who were elected into office at Lega's yearly general meeting this past weekend.

Mashego, who doubles up as Lega development officer after her appointment last year, has been elected deputy president of the association.

She is a member of the Polokwane-based Bakone Golf Social Club.

Masemola, who belongs to Pekwa Golf Social Club of Bela Bela, has been elected secretary.

These are the only changes in the executive committee after other members retained their positions.

Nolan Klassen of Bakone was retained as president, Max Kekana of Mandebele is still the treasurer and Moyaha of Bakone will continue to serve as a spokesman.

Said Moyaha this week: "We are happy to have people such as Mashego and Masemola in the executive committee and their sheer commitment in the development of golf in Limpopo is indisputable.

"It is our mandate to continue working hard as a committee for the success of the sport in the province. We will also continue to ensure the growth of golf among our youngsters and women."

Lega's second league matches will be played in Polokwane on February 10.
