When Chantel de Costa's son arrived home from school on Tuesday his eyes were swollen and he had stomach ache.

When Anraice's grandmother, Theresa, asked him if he was sick, the Naturena Primary School Grade 4 pupil told her he had been assaulted at school.

"Two pupils allegedly assaulted him. The older one held his arms while the younger one kicked him on his genitals and hit him on the face."

What hurts De Costa more is that an older girl, who is a prefect, allegedly encouraged the boys to assault her 10-year-old son.

De Costa says she spoke to the principal about the assault.

"He promised to investigate the matter and come back to me, but he has not."

The principal was yesterday not available for comment.
