There is great need to call the masses of this country to hit the streets, to demand quality service delivery and to claim a sizeable stake in the economic mainstream.

These revolutionary calls are made in the light of the skyrocketing food prices and other basic commodities that are critical for human sustenance. In the very recent past, we have experienced several economic frustrations as a result of capitalist policies of fiscal discipline.

First, it was the bread price-fixing scandal. Then the milk price has been fixed. Still reeling from these shocking developments, the public has become regular victims of power cuts as a result of Eskom's failure to provide electricity.

The public cannot continue to sit and do nothing about these rip-offs. We need to rise and rebel. We are paying exorbitant taxes which should be making our lives better.

We cannot continue to live in misery and in abject poverty while the lives of the super-rich continue to blossom. Citizens of this country should begin playing their role in the shaping of pro-poor policies for the upliftment of the plight of the downtrodden.

The general public and the working class need to be continuously reminded that they do have the power to change their destitution through their labour power, using revolutionary theory to engage the powers-that-be.
