It is nearly three years since Audi SA brought the Q7 to our shores.

Without a doubt, the Q7 has been well accepted and its presence cannot be ignored.

Hence the German manufacturer has introduced yet another engine derivative to its already exciting line-up. The new Q7 4,2TDI will complement the likes of the 4,2 Quattro, 3,6 FSI and 3,0-litre TDI.

According to Audi SA, it is important to keep their customers happy at all times and that includes introducing improved engines in their models.

Its makers say the Q7 4,2TDI will be the quickest and most powerful diesel vehicle on South Africa's roads.

The front section is sharply tapered; at the rear, steeply-angled D-pillars convey an impression of extreme dynamism and encase a coupe-like silhouette. The shoulder line and dynamic line define the side sections.

Like all Audi Q7 models, the new 4,2TDI is equipped with many convenience and safety features.

These include six airbags, energy management for the battery, aluminium roof rails, a partition net and a deluxe automatic air conditioning system.

It is also fitted with the latest iPods from Apple as well as MP3 players that can be plugged into USB connectors.

The marque claims this creation can sprint from 0 to 100km in 6,4 seconds and has a top speed of 236kph.

The new Q7 is priced at R710000, has a five-year or 100000km full maintenance plan.
