Shaun Pollock closed his international career on Sunday by hitting the winning runs as South Africa completed a 5-0 one-day sweep of the West Indies and admitted he'd love to have his career all over again.

The 34-year-old Pollock, a former skipper of the national team, collected 421 Test wickets and 393 limited-over victims as well as 3781 Test runs and 3519 one-day runs in his 12-year career.

"It's been a wonderful journey but retiring is all good. I have a real peace about it," said Pollock after South Africa's eight-wicket win at a packed Wanderers.

"It's been a great profession to have for the last 13 years and I would do it all again. It was a perfect end.

"I've been blown away by the reception at every match. It could have been sad but I'll take away fond memories because the crowds have carried me." - Sapa-AFP
