Bafana need white players

I am concerned that there are no white players in our national soccer team although I have nothing, but respect for our present team and coach.

I think that Safa should focus on developing young white players, to put stability in the team's backline and goal-scoring positions.

History has shown that our former white players had mastered the art of scoring goals and also a stable backline.

Former players Pierre Issa, Les Grobler, Shane MacGregor, Eric Tinkler, Matthew Booth - the list is endless - proved beyond any reasonable doubt that they could perform.

Most white people are tall and this advantage of height could be handy to solve our lack of good ball headers in our strike force.

Our present squad is good, but it definitely needs a few white players who will do the dirty work at the back and who will also use their height to head-score goals.

Safa must leave politics to the politicians and the building of stadiums to the builders. It must focus on the job at hand and must send off their scouts to check out white talent.

I believe that the coach is on the right track for developing the squad for 2009 and 2010, but we cannot develop forever.
