One hundred Tunisian doctors were ready to work in various rural areas across the country, the Health Professions Council of South Africa said yesterday.

One hundred Tunisian doctors were ready to work in various rural areas across the country, the Health Professions Council of South Africa said yesterday.

"The council has already registered 100 practitioners from Tunisia," said spokesman Tendai Dhliwayo. "The rural areas that have always had shortages of health care practitioners will benefit greatly."

He said they would continue processing documents as they arrived from the Health Department 's foreign workforce management programme." - Sapa
