KUMASI - Zambian international and former Jomo Cosmos striker Felix Katongo who is joining French side RC Lens, believes southern Africa countries should export more youngsters to Europe if they hope to do well in the 2010 World Cup.

"That's the only way to go for us, it's working for west and North Africans. They have players in the big leagues all over the world.

"That is why they are the ones who always dominate the Africa Cup of Nations finals," said Katongo yesterday.

"The 2010 World Cup is coming to our region, we really need to start working on our preparations now. Part of it should also include exporting more youngsters to Europe, it will help them a lot in terms of international football exposure."

Katongo, who was one of the ongoing Afcon best players until Chipolopolo crashed out on Wednesday after playing to a 1-1 draw with reigning champions Egypt where his elder brother Christopher equalised late in the game, has signed a two and half year deal with Lens.
