Business summit in Limpopo

The South African Football Association in Limpopo has organised a 2010 World Cup fundraising business summit at a leading hotel in Polokwane on February 20.

Nakedi Lekota, Safa Limpopo president, said the 2010 World Cup Local Organising Committee chief executive, Danny Jordaan, has been invited as one of the key speakers.

"We are being approached by many people in Limpopo on a daily basis wanting to know how they can also benefit from the 2010 World Cup, we thought it will be a good thing to organise such a summit for them," Lekota said.

"There are some people, both young and old, who really need business advice from us [Safa], hence we have decided to invite experts on matters relating to business to talk to them.

"They have brilliant ideas about the World Cup.

"I have discussed the matter with Dr Jordaan and Dr [Irvin] Khoza - they all liked the idea.

"It will be one of the many big activities that we are organizing for our communities ahead of the tournament," said Lekota.

He said the summit will coincide with a visit to Polokwane by the Fifa technical committee for an inspection of the Peter Mokaba Sports Centre, one of the 10 venues for the World Cup.
