Though cup matches are unpredictable, the performances of some National First Division teams this season suggest they will not reach the last 32 stage of the Nedbank Cup this weekend.

The NFD teams will be involved in the preliminary round of the new competition to determine the eight teams from the division that will compete in the last 32 stage of the tournament. They will be joined by eight sides from Safa and 16 from the top flight.

Inland Stream leaders FC AK should easily get rid of Western Province United at Eldorado Park Stadium on Sunday at 1.15pm.

Maritzburg United should take care of Inland Stream debutants African Warriors at Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg at 4pm today.

Nathi Lions are on song and the ailing Pretoria University will need luck and unequivocal support from their supporters to tame the visitors in Tshwane in a match billed for today. Kickoff is at 8pm.

In Limpopo, Dynamos welcome FC Cape Town at NkowaNkowa Stadium tomorrow and Winnerspark's temperament at home will be tested by the plucky Bay United in Seshego on Sunday.

Both matches start at 3pm.
