Of the eight games played in the 26th edition on the MTN Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Ghana only two matches, both in Group D, have ended in stalemates.

In Group A Ghana kicked off the first round of group stage games on Sunday with a 2-1 win over Guinea and South Africa and Angola ended the opening group games on Wednesday evening with a 1-all draw.

Including these two matches, 26 goals have been scored by some of Africa's finest players.

Soufiane Alloudi of Morocco leads the way with three goals as his team demolished Namibia 5-1 in their Group A clash on Monday.

Three-time African player of the year Samuel Eto'o follows the Moroccan with a brace despite his team's 4-2 loss to Egpyt, the defending champs, in their Group C clash. Egypt's Mohamed Zidan and Hosny Abd Rabou follow the Barcelona hitman with two goals each and, of the famous names, only Didier Drogba is missing from the scorers list.

Sulley Muntari and Asamoah Gyan, both from Ghana, Saloman Kalou of the Ivory Coast and Moroka Swallows' Zambian striker James Chamanga all have one goal each along with 13 other players.

Chamanga and his team made light work of African minnows Sudan as they crushed them 3-0 to go on top in Group C, surprisingly leading the pack despite the presence of the defending champs and the Indomitable Lions. - Sapa
