Eskom owes us an explanation

Surely, an organisation like Eskom as a national supplier owes the nation an explanation, as millions of rands are lost and jobs are threatened each time the business sector experiences power cuts. One can only imagine the impact this is having on the country's economy.

It's a disgrace for a country which is only two years away from holding the greatest sport event on earth to experience electricity blackouts.

Lawrence Mushwana is correct in pointing out the possibility of a lawsuit against the electricity giant, as in some instances power cuts result in huge financial losses, life-threatening situations like recent accidents in traffic light-controlled intersections or some industries where electricity is essential for the on-going course of daily business, including the health sector and correctional services.

A public apology from Eskom is the least they can do. Eskom's recommendations to boost the country's energy supply can never be equated to economic losses businesses will suffer.
