Kaizer Chiefs coach Muhsin Ertugral is optimistic that Amakhosi supporters will see a spirited side when the second round of the Absa Premiership kicks off next month.

Ertugral, who has set himself a target of finishing the elite league with 50 points and winning a trophy this season, said this after their successful training camp in Cape Town recently.

"We've already achieved our goal in winning a trophy - the Telkom Knockout - and we're faced with another daunting task of amassing as much points as we possibly could to reach our 50 points mark," he said.

The former Ajax Cape Town mentor added that the training camp had done the team a lot of good.

"We had a good training camp and we worked on mistakes we committed in league matches. We've worked on a number of things and we're happy and looking forward to the league championship."

The side had conceded 12 goals and scored 16, which shows that their defence was porous.

Amakhosi are 11th on the log with 18 points from 15 matches. But this did not worry Ertugral who firmly believes that they will make a strong comeback when the league resumes.

He said he had drafted in seven youngsters from Chiefs' development programme, who had accompanied the team to the training camp.

"The youngsters impressed me at training and it was evident that they were determined to be part of the first team.

"But we're not going to put them under pressure."

Ertugral, who was reluctant to predict whether Amakhosi will annex the league title, said he had always believed in youth.
