Award winning Afro-pop group Malaika jets off to the African Cup of Nations (Afcon) in Ghana tomorrow.

The group is billed to perform at the official opening at The Games Village Stadium on Sunday. With their album Sekunjalo doing well on local radio and television, Malaika is expected to take the West African capital by storm.

They will first perform on Saturday at the Africa Concert where they will share the stage with big stars such as Batmas Samini, Reggie Rockstone & Tic Tac from Ghana, Tuface and PZ from Nigeria, Blu 3 from Uganda, Freddie Melway from Ivory Coast and Steel Pulse from Jamaica.

Lead singer Tshidi Moholo said: "This is going to be our first big show in Ghana. We promise to give the people a good show."

Bongani Nchang echoed the sentiment: "This tour is a great opportunity for us to increase our fan base in Africa."

The group's latest masterpiece Sekunjalo is flying off the shelves and has already sold over 80000 copies since its release in August.
