Zimbabweans to Spur basement club on
National First Division side Witbank Spurs have roped in three Zimbabweans in an attempt to move away from the bottom of the log .
The players are twins Patrick and Peter Mubaiwa from Harare United and Ali Mpika from Caps United.
Spurs' caretaker coach Harry Nkosi confirmed the trio's signing and is confident about their abilities.
"Though I can't reveal the positions they play, I can assure you that they are very good players, who can add value to the team," he said.
Nkosi said the players started training with the team last October.
"They have been around for a long time and they have jelled with their teammates. We fielded them in a series of friendly games and they performed well," said Nkosi.
The trio are expected to make their debut tomorrow when Sivutha Umlilo, as Spurs are affectionately known, take on GaRankuwa United in a league encounter billed for Ackerville Stadium in Witbank at 4pm.
Meanwhile, Spurs' spokesman Bheki Sindane is inviting fans from around Witbank to attend the game because it will be broadcast live on SuperSport.
Sindane said juveniles who produce student cards will receive free entry.
"People who will come with their families will also enter free while others will be charged R5," said Sindane.
