Irresponsible to incite masses

South Africa's constitution states that everyone is equal before the law, so if anyone commits an offence the law must take its course, regardless of one's position.

I was very disappointed when Mathews Phosa, a lawyer, said the charges against ANC president Jacob Zuma are politically motivated. Being an attorney, he ought to understand the principle of separation of power. If the allegations are politically motivated, they will not stand up in court.

Phosa and Gwede Mantashe said they had to protect their leaders. Fine, but they must not do so blindly. Why didn't they criticise the disrespect shown for former ANC chairman Mosiuoa Lekota when he was booed in Limpopo.

Where does the NPA get its evidence? Are witnesses going to commit perjury by giving false evidence?

Incorporating the Scorpions into the SAPS is incorrect. If one is not corrupt then one should not be concerned about the Scorpions doing their job.

It is very sad and irresponsible of Cosatu and Mantashe to threaten bloodshed if Zuma is charged. How can leaders incite members to make the country ungovernable?

Let Zuma defend himself. He wanted his day in court.
