New electricity cables will be installed to more than 12 Bramfisherville, Soweto, homes after Izinyoka (cable thieves) stole their cables on Monday morning.

The residents were in the dark for two days after Izinyoka took house cables.

Eskom spokesman Johannes Khoele said the families will be reconnected after two days without electricity.

Masiza Mbuyiselwa, 38, said they could not cook since they had no electricity, which affected preparing their children for school as it re-opens. - Langelihle Chalwe
