Mpumalanga will host the Interprovincial games between March 26 and 28.
Three provinces - Mpumalanga, KwaZulu-Natal and Free State - and neighbouring countries Mozambique and Swaziland will compete in the yearly games that are jointly initiated by the local government and the department of culture, sport and recreation.
Sammy Mpatlanyane, spokesman for Mpumalanga's department of culture, sport and recreation, said they are delighted to be hosting the games.
"The games were started in 2006 and were first hosted by KwaZulu-Natal and last year by Free State," he said.
Mpatlanyane said this year's edition will include Swaziland and Mozambique for the first time.
"Our aim is to see the games growing and including more countries, not only provinces," he said.
Sporting codes that will be on display include soccer, cricket, rugby, table tennis and indigenous games.
Mpatlanyane was adamant that with the funding from the department of culture, sport and recreation and the local government, Mpumalanga will improve on last year's second place finish.
"Being the hosting province, we want to dominate almost in all the sporting codes," said Mpatlanyane.
"During the inaugural games we came third and in our second attempt we came second, which is a significant improvement."
The games will also be used as a build-up to the World Cup 2010.
Venues that will be used during the games are KaNyamazane, Kabokweni and Nelspruit Rugby Stadium.
