Struggling Thanda Royal Zulu have ventured into various African states to recruit quality players to beef up their squad for the new year.
Their efforts are aimed at evading the feared relegation axe and at finishing the Absa Premiership in the top eight bracket.
Manager Thabang Gumede said they were going to add significant reinforcements and had already acquired the services of three players who they hope to sign next year.
They are a central defender from Ghana, a right winger from Nigeria and a central midfielder from Benin, who also features in the national team.
"We've been in contact with the players and their agent, so everything is finalised.
"What we're waiting for is for the three to come and sign on the dotted line," he said.
Gumede said the players will each sign a 30-month contract when they arrive in South Africa next week with their agent.
Said Gumede: "We're also negotiating with a striker from one of the Premiership teams and we'll also be looking at youngsters to complement youth with experience.
"The new acquisition will be a good addition to the club and will help us significantly in the league.
"We started badly when we bought the status of Benoni Premier United and relocated to Durban.
"But now everything is normal and we're looking forward to the season.
"Our goal for the first season is to finish in the top eight and we firmly believe that we'll make it."
His side is third from the bottom of the log with 16 points from 15 matches.
Meanwhile, Kickoff reports that Thanda Royal Zulu striker Bernard Parker is excited at the prospect of playing in Poland next year.
Parker, who is one of the key players for Thanda this season, is expected to jet out of the country on January 8 for a two-week trial with Polish side Legia Warsaw.
"This is a great opportunity that every youngster dreams about - a big stepping stone in my career - and I want to grab this chance with both hands," Parker said.
Gumede confirmed that they have managed to resolve the dispute they had with midfielder July Mahlangu over a new contract.
"We have agreed everything in principle and submitted our new offer to his agency," he said.
"I am sure by the new year everything will be finalised."
He also explained that striker Lucky Maselesele had been absent from the team because of a bereavement in the player's family.
