"The 13-year-old and her sister were visiting relatives on Christmas day. A male relative took her to visit an aunt. When the sister went to look for her at the aunt's home, she found her undressed and the suspect only in his trousers," said Superintendent Motsantsi Makhele.
Police arrested the relative and a second man who was in the house at the time. They will appear in the Ficksburg magistrate's court today.
A 15-year-old girl from Mokwena near Thaba Nchu, a 20-year-old from Frankfort, Namahadi, a 23-year-old from Manayatseng near Ladybrand and a 51-year-old woman from Hoopstad, were raped on Christmas eve.
On Christmas day, a woman from Boshof was murdered by her husband who hit her with a walking stick during an argument. He will appear in the Boshof magistrate's court today. Yesterday, a 16-year-old girl was found with her throat slit in Mangaung. - Sapa
