It's official - the most popular presenter on the isiNdebele station Ikwekwezi FM is Sello "Mbuzana" Nyathi.
The former SABC1 isiNdebele presenter has just been declared DJ of the Year by listeners of the Tshwane-based radio station.
Mbuzana's competitors for the throne were close behind him as he beat the likes of Bobo "Da Beat" Mthombothi, host of the afternoon drive show Amathunzi anabile; Michael "Mikirosh", host of the flagship morning drive show Wasala wena; and a new kid on the block and marvel to listen to in mid-morning Busi "Bussai" Ntuli.
Mbuzana and the show's producer, Khulekani Mkhize, received trophies for their efforts.The listeners voted through SMS last month.
According to station marketing manager Neo Legkabo the aim of the annual awards is to recognise and reward all the key players on the station.
"It's recognition of those who have entertained and informed the multitudes of Ikwekwezi FM listeners." he said.
