I have seen them all, the good, the bad and the ugly over this past year.

This is a look at theatrical productions and I'm going to spare us the pain of listing the bad ones.

l At the National Arts Festival, Continuum was powerful, captivating and quite intense. Thumbs up.

l Thousands were not disappointed when the Disney musical, The Lion King opened the new theatre at Montecasino.

lOn My Birthday impressed immensely at the Windybrow Theatre in Hillbrow.

l Cards, a popular show, performed for the last time at the State Theatre.

l Evita for President was a good piece of theatre to watch at the Market Theatre.

l Bafana Republic made some laugh and others angry at the Market Theatre.

And the year could not have been spectacular enough theatrically without the staging of My Bum is Genetic, Deal With It. Oh, what a year it was in terms of good theatre.
