The Freedom Park Trust in Pretoria will tomorrow open its doors to the public - for free.

Members of the public will now be able to tour two elements of the heritage site, Isivivane and Sikhumbuto, without appointments, by joining guided tours at three intervals each day.

The park is being built in parts and its first phase was Isivivane, which is described as a symbolic resting place of the spirits of those who sacrificed their lives in the struggle for humanity and freedom.

Sikhumbuto, in intermediate phase, is a major memorial element at the park.
