I accept and respect Zuma as leader

At first it was very hard to accept that Jacob Zuma is now the new ANC president for obvious reasons, but as a disciplined member of the oldest liberation organisation in Africa I have accepted it and not only accept him but support and respect him as the new leader of our movement.

The ANC has spoken and I wish to appeal to all our members to respect the results of the election. The ANC that I knew respected its leaders, and its members and leaders were distinguished.

I do not know this ANC, it's not the one that Thabo Mbeki and Jacob Zuma joined at a tender age. As ANC members, we have to show political maturity and discipline. I hope those who disrespected Mbeki will find time to look at themselves and ask themselves if they really belong to the ANC, the one for which Chris Hani, and other comrades died.

I also take my hat off to President Thabo Mbeki, for his love of the ANC and our country.

A true leader does not surrender or kill; a true leader fights on through constitutional and democratic means.

I saw Mbeki fighting with pride, discipline and passion. Go well, chief; you played your part and all those who reason, salute you. The new challenge facing us all now is to rebuild the ANC and recruit members who will add intellectual value to the ANC.
