Expect a thrashing to pay for loss
AmaZulu, boosted by the return of three key players, are out to make Orlando Pirates pay for their 3-2 defeat by the high-flying Moroka Swallows.
Usuthu welcome Amabhakabhaka in an Absa Premiership match at Princess Magogo Stadium in Umlazi on Sunday, starting at 3.30pm.
The returning trio are Ghanaian international Mohammed-Awal Issah, DRC captain Belux Bukasa Kasongo and Mpho Maleka.
Maleka and Kasongo were nursing injuries, while Issah was suspended.
"Pirates are originally from Soweto, just like Swallows who embarrassed us last weekend," said Philani Mabaso, AmaZulu's public relations officer.
"You don't have to motivate your players when you play against a big club of Pirates' calibre.
"Pirates have been doing well since the arrival of [Owen] Da Gama as their coach, but they are going to fall this time round.
"It is that time of the year where people have been dishing out gifts to friends and loved ones.
"We are going to give our supporters a memorable Christmas gift on Sunday," added Mabaso.
Mickey Modisane, Pirates' publicist, said they were equally determined to end 2007 on a memorable note, especially for their fans "The Ghost".
"We need to make up for the four points that we dropped when we drew against Platinum Stars and Free State Stars in the past two games."
Da Gama said: "The plan is to end the year with a victory."
John "Shoes" Moshoeu, Maleka and Martin Carelse are some of the seasoned campaigners who will carry Usuthu's hopes.
"The Ghost" will be crossing their fingers that the likes of Excellent Walaza, Teko Modise and Tlou Segolela do not go to sleep after scoring early in the game.
l Jomo Cosmos hope the gods will smile on them this time round when they take on Thanda Royal Zulu at Ackerville Stadium in Witbank tomorrow.
Kickoff is at 3.30pm.
"The players are ready to die with their boots on and we are sure to turn the corner and catapult Ezenkosi to its rightful place, at the top," said Andrew Rabutla, Cosmos' manager.
l In Rustenburg, Platinum Stars, fresh from a 2-1 morale boosting win over Mamelodi Sundowns, host Santos at Olympia Park on Sunday at 3.30pm.
"We are going for yet another win," said Thamaga Mokgophi, Stars' general manager.
