Zuma will also be successful

I would like to congratulate Jacob Zuma for winning the election, free and fair.

I would like to congratulate Jacob Zuma for winning the election, free and fair.

I think South Africans realised that Thabo Mbeki did not mean what he said. He said he wished the next president to be a woman but accepted the ANC presidential nomination. This is a contradiction. Why, was he not ready for the ANC, and by extension, the country, to be led by a woman?

Two wrongs do not make a right but let us be fair when commenting.

When Mbeki took over as president, he was compared to Nelson Mandela and concerns were raised about whether he would live up to expectations.

Now it is Zuma being compared to Mbeki, and as expected, concerns are being raised as to whetherZuma will live up to expectations.

The answer is: nothing should or will stop him from succeeding.

The majority of MPs in Mandela's government were his close allies from Robben Island. When Mbeki came in, people who went with him into exile where introduced into the government. They were mixed with a few individuals from Robben Island.

As for those who are threatening to vote for other parties in the next national election, let them be free and leave us in peace to vote for the ANC.

Finally, thanks for all the good things you have done as the president of the ANC and the country, Thabo Mbeki.
