Two men have been arrested in connection with the rape and murder of an unidentified woman, aged between 25 and 31, whose body was found at Ironsyde near De Deur in the Vaal.
The men, both aged 19, were arrested after police received a tip-off that they were the last people to be seen with the woman at Lakeside, near Orange Farm.
Vaal Rand police spokesman Captain Veli Mcera said the men were arrested on Tuesday. They were linked to the crime because they we allegedly the last to be seen leaving a shebeen with the woman.
"The men were drinking in the shebeen when they followed her outside and raped and killed her before dumping her body in a yard at Ironsyde on Sunday," said Mcera.
It is alleged there were three men. The other suspect is on the run and police are searching for him. - Ntwaagae Seleka
