Vaal police are appealing to the public to help identify a woman whose half-naked, decomposing body was found on Monday.
Police spokesman Captain Veli Mcera said the woman had been raped and then murdered, and her body dumped in a yard at Ironside, near De Deur.
The woman was aged between 25 and 31 years and was found between a corrugated-iron shack and an incomplete five-roomed house.
Mcera said anyone with information should contact the De Deur police.
