A gang of 15 men convicted of operating a truck hijacking-syndicate is expected to be sentenced today at the Kroonstad circuit court in the Free State.

A gang of 15 men convicted of operating a truck hijacking-syndicate is expected to be sentenced today at the Kroonstad circuit court in the Free State.

The men who hail from Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa were convicted two weeks ago. Paulus Shilango, 28, Alexandre Dava, 34, Jabu Mtembu, 33, Anthony Mathebula, 34, Lazarus Mnisi, 30, Simon Mnisi, 36, Sebastian Sibeko, 34, Sipho Mxoli, 54, Orlando Thivane, 36, Jackson Fulane, 39, Cain Gondwe, 35, Joseph Mahlalela, 38, Joel Ndzimande, 35, Walter Gumede, 41, were found guilty on 54 charges on December 5.

They were charged with robbery with aggravating circumstances, abduction, possession of firearms and ammunitions. - Ntwaagae Seleka
