What with the hazardous conditions that invariably prevail on our roads during the festive season.

It is not only traffic congestion that creates these unsafe conditions on our national roads but also to blame are a band of motorists that show little regard for road safety rules.

These drivers persist in undertaking trips with unroadworthy vehicles, without intermittent rests along the way or ignore speed limits.

This is despite our high road death toll.
